Building my first PJ. It will be built into a coffee table. This first build is a test run to iron out problems and get the dimensions down pat before building my coffee table.
Fired up the PJ and plugged a dvd player into it using a $100AUS video/VGA converter. Was not happy with the results, the image was not defined and had trouble with the colours and contrast. (The same unit currently on ebay at the moment for about $60-80)
I connected up my PC and the results are far superior. Will take back the converter and exchange for a 15m VGA lead.
I built a keystone correction for my front Fresnell, however could not get enough correction with the PJ on the floor angled up. So I tweeked the last bit with the NV keystone. Works very well. I adjusted the PJ keystone parrallel to LCD and just used NV. Perfect.
Now that I will not be using mechanical keystone, should I stick with the split fresnels or go to unsplit, if split design, should I mount the field fresnell closer to the LCD? (currently about 30-40mm from LCD to get enough keystone )
Also my rear fresnel is bowing a bit, should I mount it hard against the heat shield glass?
One last thing, when I focus, I can get the middle into focus or the outside edges, not both, any ideas folks?
I have a pre-condenser lense from a 250w halogen OHP, would that help to brighten up the edges, as you can see from the photos it gets dark on the edges
Thanks in advance
