The LG/Philips should be fine. I run it and found nothing against it. Speed is fine.
Bu I have serious controller issues, I bought an MST and a Pixelworks from Carpow, the firmware seems to be programmed wrong. Any way of programing it by myself? Or to flash a proper Firmware onto the controller?

Not easily. it would be best to send it back and get a properly programmed board.

Hi there,
With my lack of patience to get started on my full hd project, I ordered the MST controller, not realizing that it was not capable of 1:1 pixel mapping. I live in the UK - so sending it back via customs and getting the pixelworks controller...lets just say 1080p may be obsolete by then. Ive done my best to search the forums but have not found the answer I'm looking for...so my question is - for those of you running the mst with a 1080p source (not pc), how does it look? Stretched and silly? Hardly noticable? Acceptable with such tinkering? I'm very worried...sorry for rambling.
Thanks:)

Thanks, for the quick reply!! You have put my mind at ease somewhat:) I don't suppose you know of any threads with pics of the projection with such a set up do you? My searching skills on this forum are shocking...obviously, otherwise I would have got the PW contorller to start with!!

The MST controller does not have 1:1 pixel mapping...okay. Is there anyway i can adjust the stretching via software??

Thanks,

No everything (all resolutions) are stretched to fill the screen.

Well unless you buy a $1000 scaler smile.gif

and it is here that i feel i have made a horrible mistake. people have tred to comfort me saying that it will still look great, but at the this stage i feel like i have an expensive sub standard controller (mst) with an impossible to remove the pesky AG screen (sharp). Would I be better goinng with high end 720p lcd then a low end 1080p set up??? comfort me more:(

Why would you feel it's subpar?

I had my 1080p Lcd on stretch to fill for a year and NOBODY could tell or mentioned anything. and this was with Movies/Games/T.V .

And AG removal is not a necessity , in fact it hasn't been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to do anything for some members. Some report better colors, some more brightness, others NOTHING AT ALL.... blink.gif

So build it , enjoy it, and impress others smile.gif

Thanks again for the words of wisdom regarding my 1080p set up to be. Ie one more favour to ask. I dont suppose you have the final plans/measurments for your enclosure and lay out do you? Liked your plog and am aiming to use it as my blueprint (if you dont mind) smile.gif
Thanks,
Sean

Wouldnt you be able to use MP Classic, using the number buttons can stretch the image vertically or horizontally without affecting the resolution.

This sounds great! I have a BR player in pc and if I could use it to correct the image, I would be a happy man. Anyone have any comments on this pretty please??

KM Player also does this if I remember correctly. But I can't remember if this works correctly with controllers that auto fill , so I didn't want to give bad advice smile.gif

My sharp 15.4 inch WUXGA isn't stripped and it looks just fine color/brightness wise, even up to 150 inches.

I say it would, because normal lcd screens dont do 1:1 usually, it would stretch any resolution you throw at it, and no matter what resolution you use, you can use MP Classic to change the size of the picture without it being autofilled.

If your using a PC you shouldn't even have to bother with changing any aspect ratio settings.
Just run the native res of the panel and it won't stretch anything.

Hi,

My mst remote from manhattan doesn't work. Infact I'm not sure where the IR port is on the controller. Anyone have any tip/tricks to get it working?

Also, how are people mounting the part of the board with the level controls on it? Theres no place for screw mounts and I'd hate to glue it to something.

Loads of thanks,
garitd
dont know if mine is the same as yours but the IR port looks like a small black dome and its on the same little strip as all the buttons.
SeanyP321
yes its there! Could it be I need to program the remote? Any ideas on how to do this?
garitd
i didnt need to program mine. i would maybe double check the batteries.
