Man, what a vicious place. So many threads are all pissing contests and no facts. So much of that "my x can beat your x". I try to use that place for information on non projector-related AV stuff, but it is almost impossible from the attitudes.

Okay, done venting.

weldonjb, without a doubt. You can ask a very simple question and be called a Dumba-- for 5 more threads for asking. Sometimes the info is good, but I'll never ask one.

Unfortunate, but true. Its a shame really because there are some intelligent and decent people there, but the "exceptional" personalities seem to far outweigh them...

It can be pretty brutal over there. I found the Dedicated Theatre Construction forum to have very helpful and have nice people.

It is usually the same people over and over that are doing the flaming.

You often have to sift through the ego and BS to find the information you want. However there is alot of information to be had.
