PLease advise which to remove or both to remove....?

I know one is AG and one is polarising flim. Correct me if i am wrong.

One can see one side reflects the light the other does not.

Am i to remove both the screen ?

Any help is good.

The dull side probably has AG. removing it will give a sharper, and possibly brighter projection.. I would suggest watching for a bit with the AG in tact, and if you are unhappy with the sharpness, proceed to remove the AG. If you have any qualms about doing so, avoid it. Most people are perfectly happy with their projection before removing AG.

Tameone the dull side is the front side from where one views the LCD.

I am sure i can remove it, but wanted to know is it usefull.. as i dont want to finish the PJ then open it again and remove this .. as the connectors are very delicate.

If one side is AG then i guess the other is the polar screen.

What is the advantage in removing both these screen?

thanx

you do not want to remove the polarizer. The panel will be useless without it.. if you damage it, you will need to purchase a seperate replacement polarizer. the front may have a polarizer as well underneath the AG. The AG is generally on the front of the panel, but sometimes on the back too. Its purpose is to diffuse & scatter light hitting the front of the panel so it doesn't reflect back into your eye and cause screen glare. There are a couple ways to remove the AG. The most common is the rag soak method.. you soak a couple paper towels in water, lay them on top of the panel, and cover with plastic wrap. several hours later, the glue under the AG will soak up the water, lose it grip and you should be able to peel up the layer of anti glare. Other methods include paint stripper or metal polish.

I can remove the AG with no problem .. I have a PCB cleaner should work well when diluted with water...

So the moral is the polar stays !

I dont think the front has polar only the back looks like its there. Shall put the screen under a video microscope and see what comes up. smile.gif

Looks like a 16 pin .5mm extension is needed.

Yo get one fom the LL store. and then you put the extension and the ffc together (METAL PINS TOUCHING FACE TO FACE) and then slide them into the zif onnector LL provides with the extension. Then it's best to hot glue it so it doesn't move.
