Full Version: Gap Between Field Fressy & Lcd (unsplit)

My original plan was to have 1/2" gap between the LCD and field fresnel for airflow in my unsplit setup. As it turns out, I designed both the LCD and fresnel frames so that they face each other.. i.e. it goes fresnel, fresnel frame, gap, LCD frame, LCD. Since each frame is 1/4" I need ~1" space between the field fresnel and LCD in order to maintain at least 1/2" for airflow at the narrowest point. Just wondering if this added distance will hurt my projected image? The fresnels are plenty big to cover the LCD. I could probably find a way to modify the design if a smaller gap would be beneficial. thanks

No the gap is just fine, I put my fresnels right against each other with no gap and allowed the air to move over the outside edge of them both. I have pictures in my vertical PLOG.

This might help.

well im not worried about fresnel to fresnel gap, just fresnel to LCD smile.gif

the 1" should be fine... so long as the "light cone" is still larger than the viewable area of the LCD, you should actually be better off than it sitting closer. (ie. you'll be using more of the fresnel area for collecting light and directing it through the viewable area of the LCD)

cheers,

ok thats what I assumed, and I couldn't think of any negative reprocussions. as I mentioned before, the fresnels are plenty big since they are Pro and Uncut smile.gif Thanks gs
