from what I understand , LCD size is the limiting factor for an uniform focus and brightness

A bit expensive for standard definition. I mean, a commerical projector would be no lower res, so no reason not to go for that instead.

I have a 800x600 sharp projector , but I'm always using it with xbmc on my xbox .. it barely does 640x480 so a 640x480 resolution is enough for me

what I want is cheap lamps (300$/2000 hour = sucks !)

I agree with you there. Lumenlab sells a perfectly good commercial projector, that uses regular lamps.
