- Contrast 250:1

That's not a very high contrast ratio. If possible, try to find one with a 400:1 contrast ratio (or better). 300:1 is acceptable, 250:1 is marginally OK.

Don't pay more for a monitor that has a higher brightness. You will strip the backlight anyway.

Also, either that monitor isn't widescreen or isn't 1024*768 because that is not a widescreen resolution.

Thanks for your feedback, do you know any decent 7 inch lcd's with component input? i know there is the lilliput one but im not sure if that has component inputs.
Also, i understand the focal length for one of the frensels is 330mm if I cut it down to fit with a 7/8 inch lcd would it reduce the focal length? if not is there a way to reduce it?

I am using a 5" screen from a PSOne screen, lower res than you want at only 320*240, but it is cheap and easy to obtain. Edit: forgot to mention that it has many hacks for vga, component, etc.

Not released yet, but this post is talking about a 7" 1080p (highest HD) panel:
7.1 Inch 1080p Lcd!
