So far I have a 12V 5.4" TFT LCD. I also have two 300 mm fresnel lenses. The space i have to work with is very small (single dorm room). I would like to have the projector approximately 6' to 7' from the wall/screen (b/c thats all the room I can spare). I know the LCD I have is not the best, but it is low power which is a plus and its going to the scrap yard if I don't do something with it. SO I have a couple questions for you guys.

1)Which triplet would I have to get?
2)When using the two fresnel lenses (condensor/collector), is it important that their focal lengths be different?
3)Can I use the two 300 mm lenses I already have.

This project has to be as low budget as possible. The TFT LCD is made for gamecube display resolution of 480. I am going to use it primarily as a video game projector so the quality does not have to be perfect. I think the only things left to buy are teh light source/reflector, the glass heat shield, the triplet, and the various wiring components and fan. Just one more question.

Is their anything I can rip some of these parts off of? I see people throw all kinds of stuff out all the time. I know people that do scrap metal removal and such. They always find things that companies throw out. I will look for a computer fan and power supply from an old computer. Someone is bound to throw out an old cpu.

I am on an extremely limited budget (college tuition + dorming is killing my pockets). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1. Use "Varifocal Projection Triplet" for your lcd.
2. Don't know, sorry.
3. Don't know sorry.

One more question.

They (Lumenlab) use a 150w double-ended HQI lamp for their pre-made projectors. I think I would like to use the same thing.

1) Where can I get the bulb and ballast for the cheapest price?

^^^ THanks for the triplet answer.

The best bet would be to use the Standard Lens Kit from LumenLab.

The 220mm rear fresnel will be brighter than the 300mm Lens and make your box smaller also.
