So here's a question. If you had some solar cells inside the projector (and/or peltiers), could you turn the excess light from the side of the lamp back into 12V power to drive your fans? Hmmm.

that's certainly an interesting idea... most of the solar panels (hobby size anyway) seem to be somewhat limited in either voltage or current capacity. If not running fans, then maybe some other aux system like LEDs for indicator lights or something similar..
Anyone have a ballpark on current draw for a 120mm 12v computer fan... if memory serves its somewhere around 200mA..?

Yes.. mine doubles as a space heater in the winter, and an annoyance in the summer.

u'd need a whole lot of peltiers to line the inside. that's gonna be expensive.

My room is cold, and my girlfriend is tropical. This will work out great... and give me time to get the compressor and condensor and stuff out of a mini-fridge that I find by the side of the road...
