I've been having a difficult time with severe green tint. Even after 5 hours of being lit, it doesn't look any less green then it does after 5-10 minutes. My eballast is wired with brown and blue for both the input and output, and I read in the forum that some people have some problems if the live and neutral wires are switched. How can I tell which one is supose to be the live? I've taken the end off the ballast to look at the board, but niether are labled like some have said with an L and an N. The only thing that is written is "P3" and "P4" right next to where the wires are connected. Can anyone help?

That is the way I have it wired. Brown live, Blue neutral. Any other ideas would be very helpfull.

would it hurt to try switching them just once to see if I get a better result? Does anyone know what problems occur if they are switched?

Switching on the lamp side should be no problem and have no effect. Don't switch on the power input side.

Is there any way to be certain that I'm not currently switched?

I reckon it wouldn't work if it were switched

why wouldn't it? AC current doesn't have polarity like DC does. Sure, one is live and one is neutral. But once the switch is flipped live and neutral are the same because the current direction changes about 60 times a second. Unlike DC which is always in the same direction. Not trying to to say you're wrong, just trying to understand.
