Okay so here we go, I'm finally getting a start on this project. I am considering encasing both fresnels in 1/16th glass each side. Also the same story with the lcd. Pluss the layer of tempered glass. Has anyone else done it this way? it seems as though im getting a lot of glass built up that way.
1 Does this effect the light much?
2 Is it worth the benifit of easier to clean lenses?
3 Could i use the first sheet of tempered right next to the fresnel instead of a plain layer of 16th glass?
Thanks!

Read the thread on Joe's test projector. He has some pics (low quality, but they get the point across) with glass and w/o glass.

So currently what is the trend with glass.
I can get 4mm optic clear tempered(toughned)(crystal clear) glass for my light at $25.00 Australian (15" X 14" roughly ) and 2mm clear glass for $6.00 per sheet same size. havent made my box yet so havent got exact measurements for glass.
Are people using one piece tempered and then what ??? one piece per lense?? how do you hold the lense to the glass??
sorry for the questions but i have read that many threads on for and against i am not sure how many to order??

I used the 1/8" or 'double strength' glass as my tempered piece. Then on the other side i put another 'double strength' non tempered to keep dirt out of the grooves.
I used no glass on the front fresnel. Each piece of glass knocks down about 13% of the light. So the less glass you have the better for you.
