Has anyone tried this? I've been looking for a way to get component into my PC but haven't been able to find a pci card yet. Any reviews on it?

You can get Dscaler the software they are using for free if anyone wants it.

Here it is.

bringing up a somewhat old topic....but, bbuchana, they have adapters to go from component cables to stereo jacks that work on your pc, cost about $1-2 from best buy, ive used them before to plug up my stereo to my sound card, worked well, may want to try it out, think it should work fine for a home theater system, thats what i plan on doing with the system im getting and my audigy 2.

I have this card and it is very nice. It is called the PDI Deluxe here in the states.

You cannot input any kind of high definition: 1080i, 720p or extended definition: 480p signal . It will only accept a 480i signal.

For anything else it is great, lot's of inputs with a clean signal.

I'll take deinterlacing from dScaler with output from a video card over all the others anytime! cool.gif

You can buy it from the wonderful people at Digital Connection

A bit pricey isn't it? As someone said earlier, it can only accept at most 480i on the component. I used to use DScaler with a $10 video capture card with the BT878 video decoder (the 878 chip is pretty old, the capture card was on closeout from compgeeks). The capture card only had composite and svideo, but DScaler gave me a great picture on my LCD flat panel thru a nVidia GeForce4 card.

I'm probably missing something here, but for $230US, it seems like it is only providing the ability to have multiple inputs and switch between them, although I don't see a remote control.

Seems like I could keep my $10 video capture card and use DScaler to process TV/Sat or VCR and use my DVD ROM to play DVDs.

It would be nice if it could input high bandwidth (HD) component, but $230 is still a bit more than I would be willing to pay.
