how likely is it this would work with a 19" widescreen monitor?

depends on the diameter. it needs to be wide enough to fit the entire light 'cone' inside it when positioned the correct distance from the LCD panel. if you can find the diameter, we can do some calculations.

seems to be 5 1/4" or so they say.. hopefully they take accurate measurements

Although I am new to DIY Projection I figured I reply to this one.

It will sorta work - The edeges are gona be just a tiny bit blury with the wide screen 19" with the 18" Beseler Triplet - I know this how?
