I have built a projector a while back and wanted to post some pics in the completed projector forum.I wasnt able to post there. Is that because this is my first post?Do I need x amount of posts to post there?
Thanks in advance

I believe you are restricted from posting in the completed projector and the plog forums until you get more posts. I don't know the number off hand though.

It appears you need to be an "advanced member" to post your plog.
To be "advanced" I think you have to have made 30 posts elsewhere in the forums. (I think thats when I graduated from being a retarded member

)

Well thanks anyway. Im a man of few words and I really dont think I could survive 30 post. Rather be watching
projector than showing it off anyways.I will try attaching a small pic with this post

looks like its from the starwars universe. you'd probably be surprised how much a reflector can increase brightness.. even a metal bowl from target, walmart, etc that would fit over the large EYE bulb.

I was also wondering if anybody else is running a personalized into clip like the one in my first pic?It really looks professional and totally blows away the first timers that watch my projector. I use nero showtime to watch dvds and when I select the source I choose MEDIA FILES.The first file i select is a bitmap that i made.Its all black with WE WILL BEGIN SHORTLY written in the center.Than I select my 22 second intro clip.Than after that I have short clip of the simpsons THX parody(funny as hell)and finally i select the main movie files on the dvd.Once you press play the WE WILL BEGIN SHORTLY stays on the screen till I press N(next) on my keyboard. Its great because you can have it all setup before anybody enters the room and start it with the push of a button.The thing I like about the all black bitmap is you dont get a feel for how big it is until the intro clip starts and the music starts pounding.

Hey X,
Just realized you wanted to post pics in completed pj forum not plogs.
I dont think you need to be an AM to do that.
Just go to com pj forum and click new topic button down the bottom and go for it.
Your project looks really great and it would a shame not to post some screenies.
Good luck!

I keep getting Sorry, you do not have permission to start a topic in this forum when I try that.Its no big deal cause theres no shortage of projector pics in the forums anyways.

This may of been discussed already but the intro clip I talked about came from the good souls at the avs forums. It was a generic clip that said WELCOME TO OUR HOME THEATRE.I just opened it in the program that made it(blender)and changed the name.Mine is 22 seconds long and its very close to the fox searchlight pictures intro(very sharp).Once the names changed you just have to render it and add the fox "fanfare" music to it. If you search the avs forums it explains it in more detail

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread....=minton+theatretry the above link.the second post on that page has a link to the generic WELCOME TO OUR HOME THEATER blender file. I gathered enough info from them pages to alter the file to give me what you see.
