Hello,
I saw a Insignia 15" LCD TV on sale. It has all of the inputs I would need, VGA, s-video, component video...etc. 1024x768 max res. 400:1 contrast. Remote & built-in tuner. Are these lcd tv's worth the trouble to strip? rolleyes.gif
Thanks!

Whether it be monitor or TV... your LCD stripping experience will vary from manufacturer to manufacterer (spelling?) and from model to model. From what I've seen and my experience ( I am using a 17" LCD TV in my PJ) LCD TV's are not any harder to strip... its just a bit riskier because so few TVs have been stripped and reported compared to the huge list of monitors in the stickied list.

I see an Insignia NS-15LCD on sale at Future Shop next week, and was wondering if it is an acceptable model for stripping? I have my light scource and lenses on their way and hope to use this as my moniter if it will work. Anyone try one of these yet?

I stripped a Polaroid 15-Inch LCD TV, and it is absolutely great to already have all the inputs needed instead of having to use an external box. However, I would not recommend this particular model of LCD TV. It has an FFC issue as you can see im my PLOG and it took some inginuity to fix. I have heard that the Magnavox 15 in. LCD TV is an easy strip with no FFC issues. Having the extra inputs already there are def. a plus. I would recommend a LCD TV if you have the opportunity to use one instead of a regular LCD computer monitor and are looking for a simple solution to the input issues.

If you have some time, you can read up on my PLOG about the tv on the first page. Good Luck!
