I have an idea for something that may improve our lighting situation, but I first all I need to know this, just how close can I put lexan to the bulb? Would it melt at 30mm? If it would, would tempered glass have a problem at that distance?

I'm sure tempered glass would be fine, don't know about the lexan.

at 30mm it would definitely melt.
