Well My Ushio SD400 is crapping out after 18 months, time to replace......

I see the online store here is selling a different model of bulb these days, 'LL65K T15 Lamp' it looks better (temp etc.) I just can't remember when I bought my lenses etc. if there were other shipping costs involved, does anyone know?

Also can I use that bulb with my existing ballast and mogul (the one I use for the Ushio), it looks like the center is off by a couple of mm's thats and easy fix.

Hoping to order one of these ASAP.

TIA Terry

If you're using a magnetic ballast with the ushio, it's likely an S51, which is not compatible with the new lamp. The new LL lamp will operate on the LL eballast or an M59 magnetic.

ahh ok, and I'll be damned if I can remember what the ballast is, guess I have to rip apart the ballast box to see what the label says.......

Thanks....

In the event that I have to stay with the Ushio, does anyone have a decent source for them, (or an acceptable alternative), the guy I bought them from the last time can only get them in batches of 3 and I didn't really want to buy three, two would have been ok I suppose, handy to have a spare but I can see me changing it all before 3 years is up.....

Yup, you're correct it is an S51 Ballast......
