After searching for a couple of hours i found that 'digi-key' stocks smt board to board ribbon cables, which i need to extend the current one which is too short.
but i don't know how long it should be
it is currently only 8cm long which is way to short, so.... i thought to be on the safe side I should get the longest cable they have which is 30cm but then i thought......
with it being so long will it lose the signal? like usb does when its over 16ft.
any suggestions?

heres a link to the page with the details on--

Another question does any one know what these things are/do?

The things are ferrite chokes - noise reducers.

From what I've seen you should go with as long as you need and you shouldn't experience problems.

I'm not talking 16 feet here though! tongue.gif
