I have a choice between a Dell 153FP and a Benq FP51G.

Both monitors have had mixed reveiws as to if either of these have FFC issues. I have tried looking at the compatible monitors list but it differs to what other people have said on these forums... unsure.gif

Has anyone used these just to confirm there are no issues with them as i really need to buy one this weekend.

I obtained a Dell 153fpb recently; this is the model which is manufactured by benQ for dell. It was an easy strip with no fcc issues. Also, the anti-glare is said to be an easy remove; I have not done this yet. Find out if the Dell 153fp is just that. Why I say this is I snagged a 153fpb on ebay but it was advertsied as 153fp. If the dell is a 153fpb, definitely go that route. I don't know much about the BenQ other than what I know about the Dells that are manufactured by BenQ, but I would think if my dell manufactured by BenQ is an easy strip then it seems the BenQ would most likely be as well.

No i think it is def the 153FP. Do you know if there is a major difference? I wonder what the 'b' stands for?

Dell monitors can be somewhat unpredictable, however, it seems that most of the newer models are easily strippable.

You can usually tell before taking the whole thing apart. As soon as you get the back off of the monitor. A "good" one will only have one control circuit board attatched at the top. A "bad" one will also have a board on the side. (These can still be used, but you need an FFC extension.)

I believe the 'b' represents the fact that it is manufactured by BenQ.

Thanks guys. I have actually now just purchased a Video 7 L15PS, i have seen this in the compatible monitors list and has good specs 450/1 Contrast Ratio and 16ms Refresh rate.

Anyone actually used this and have a strip guide for it? wink.gif
