I was going to build my first projector from scratch but I came across an ASK impression 960 projector and saw a chance to make something interesting.

ASK Impression 960 Original (1996)

575 HQI OSRAM 575W/GS
10" SHARP LQ10PX01 XGA
13" FRESNEL UN-SPLIT
303-335 Varifocal Adjustable Triplet

The light Engine consists of a UV Shielded glass pane, Precon lens and Semi Sphere dichoric rear reflector

The old lamp and ballast as well as the very old LCD will be replaced to make a new Projector.

**UPDATE**

Its been a while as I have had alot of things going on in RL and had some problems getting a decent LCD that would fit the small case.

I did purchased a XGA lcd TV panel but it turned out to be SVGA native :( , its now sitting next to my computer being a LCD TV!

I am looking at using CCFL tubes as a light engine too but want to get things going so will use a standard setup for now.

The ASK 960 is gutted waiting to be refitted with

10.6 Samsung LCD
MST controller
150w CDM G12
150w Eballast

I am keeping the reflector and precon as well as the Variable Triplet

for cooling im looking at these
