I just bought an ATSC receiver, and would like to get an antenna for it. I live approx 50 miles from the towers. I would obviously like to keep it as cheap as possible, but not at the sacrifice of a good signal. Does anyone have a good budget minded suggestion? Shuold I go with the attic mounted antenna, or may a decent radio shack antenna work. Thanks for any good advice.

Also, can someone please tell me the website to check your distance from the local towers. Thanks.

Here's the website to find your local stations.

And I bought over 10 HD Antennaes and the best I found was this one : http://shopper.cnet.com/TERK_HD_TVS_Slim_P...9-31749930.html

And you definitely want an outdoor or attic antenna. An indoor one from that distance won't pick up anything.

My actual distances are between 11 and 40 miles with most being 36 miles.

Yea you'll need an outdoor or attic antenna.

Even using a smaller out door antenna indoors is better than most indoor antennas.

I'm picking up a bunch of stations from about 34 mi away with a homemade antenna. It's a copy of the DB2 or something, using instructions I found somewhere on LL. I modified it and made a DB4 instead, been working well for almost a year. http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?s...mp;#entry112691
