My mockup for a adjustable bulb mount. Anyone ever try a mount like this.

Bulbs angle can be adjusted up/down/left/right/in/out in tiny increments.

Springs tension lamp base during adjustment.

The carrage bolt locks bulb into place when tightened as springs may loose their strength as the light engine heats up.

Idea's, drawbacks?

Looks cool to me!

how does it adjust up/down other than being able to tilt?

It tilts. I was looking for fine adjustments. For course adjustments I'll move the whole light engine.

It looks nice to me... The only issue I see is that you may have to clearance the back side of the mogul adjustment plate at the screw holes to prevent binding when tilted.

Very nice for fine adjustments.

You could cut slots on the ends of the threads and then be able to make your adjustments from the back side with a screwdriver.

I'm thinking of using a scissor-lift to support my reflector so I can drop it out of the way when changing or adjusting the bulb.

I'm still tring to draw this up. Pictures will be posted in a few days.

Yes, I know all this seems complex, it is, but in this case ease of adjustment when operating. I don't like burnt fingers or UV.
