I could have swore I saw a post for a software based line doubler called REZ in the forum somewhere, I cant get the search to work so has anyone seen it? or has anyone seen any software for windows that will make TV broadcast signals look decent on an LCD monitor? I have an ATi 9800 all-in-wonder for my project but I am not impressed with the output of TV signals on my LCD.

I don't think you're after a line doubler. Any interlaced low scan signal coming into your PC is automatically line doubled and converted to progressive when displayed on the VGA port.

The quality that this is done at varies on the video card and/or your software.

If you have a fast enough PC and a compatible capture card I'd take a look at dscaler, do a search on the net. It's well known as the best deinterlacer/inverse telecine software around, and it's free. Should clear up your jerky playback nicely.

Cheers,
Arkay,.

Edit: Spelled Dscaler as descaler... But was talking about Dscaler wink.gif

there was this at one time

http://www.dscaler.org/

they had a de-interlacing program 'dscaler4'

As mentioned above, this just does something to overcome software that does interlaced display
