Just remember that most of these high temperature plastics will start to soften or melt at about 200-250 C (~400-500 F).

Ask about Tg (glass transition temperature) for these plastics. This is the temperature where the plastics will start to soften and deform.

Heat shields are still (in my mind) a must have situation.

If you can give me a name of the plastic, I can tell you the max. working temperature range.

I work with plastics (polymers) a lot. In other words, it's my job. smile.gif

cool. as it turns out, i may just end up buying a pre-fabricated box (in the trading post section, its a "pinned" thread), although i may upgrade to plastic later. unfortunately, i just found 2 dead pixels on my LCD. the green color in the pixel burnt out, resulting in a bright magenta color. fortunately, this will not be shown when watching DVD's because they are both out of the widescreen area, but will be bvisible when using this as a computer monitor. owell....

Bummer,

I know how it is with dead pixels...I have grown accustom to them with my own monitor.

I will have to give it a try.
