Anyone with a 740n, Did you have any issues taking off the antiglare? is there any? I've had it on for a few days, would have have burned the AG in?

thanks, planning to strip monitor tonight.

Haven't done the model myself, but it seems familiar. Do a search for it. If it has a diffusive layer on the outside then it is antiglare. It will be dull looking. If no AG then it will be shiny. A couples of days should be fine. I have seen people remove a couple year old AG.

Good luck.

Hey mate, check out my PLOG i have used the 740N in my projector..

I had some major trouble with the AG removal...... soaked her for 15 hrs and still couldn't get it to sperate, ended up ripping off the whole show.

I then tryed soaking the layers in some warmish 'fuzzy' water (elken laugh.gif ) though after 1-2hrs it started to disolve the polariser itself (small pieces i had left for longer).

Right, now on to the complicated choice if whether or not to do it.... my addvice is to try the 'celo' tape method first.... you will like the results. I ended up recieving a monitor which had been manufactured in march 2006, in which a newer, different panel was installed...l. Prior to this model i am told that the panel had a AG layer on both sides....my did not (only one) and the layer itself is a real pain in the donkey tongue.gif

Even though i did 'kind' of screw im also happy i did as im getting a new polariser with higher specs and it will be fun to experiment..... My addvice > it is definately worth doing it's whether or not you have the cukeamunga's to do it... laugh.gif

Im sure other peeps with chime in with their thoughts any time soon, as it is a popular model... and their results are generally better than mine tongue.gif

There appears to be different manufacturers of the LCD panel in the 740N. Try the water soak method first and if it doesn't simply peel off very easily then you have the LCD with a solvent based glue holding the A/G on. The only way I know of to remove this type of A/G is to use paint stripper or a complete polariser replacement.
