Here are my purchase so far:

-400w Ballast
-400w Bulb
-Base for bulb
-LL lense kit (2 fresnals and triplet)
-15" LCD screen

total cost so far is ~$190 USD. SO I'm doin alright!

I'm looking foward to getting started and having the awesome support of this site when I run into problems (undoubtedly, but hopefully minor).

So for now, Cheers! tongue.gif

-LL lense kit is here. YEAH!!!
-LCD arrived today as well.
-Ballast/bulb/base/lighting everything up is in transit.

Hopefully I will be able to make some frames for my fresnals and LCD (please no FFC). and then I will start the box. I'm thinking just a normal box.

Suspected time of completion: 4 weeks/October 5.

So far, so good. What kind of enclosure are you planning on?

Good luck, and remember - the most satisfying stuff is rarely the easiest wink.gif

Updated:

LCD stripped... working on framing...

All I need is a lamp/ballast

Now I wish I could find a lamp and ballast kit for cheap somewhere! Even the bulb!

So if anyone want to help me get a cheap bulb that would be AWESOME!

whats your budget for the bulb and ballast? you can pick up a brand new m59 ballast and m59 EYE bulb for around $65 from hidirect.com
Cxrazy
does that come with everything I need?

so I can just wire it up and screw the bulb in and go?
Cxrazy
EDIT!

OK, I now have my lighting, and damn this thing is bright...

I will update later with the pictures. My LCD shipped today and it should be arriving around next tuesday.

Now to frame my fresnals.

Here are some pics of the bulb and ballast and everything up and running....

Alright, well after my escapades in the forrest of the broken LCD and a forray into the sea of too lazy to buy MDF board, I believe that by the end of this thanksgiving break I will be completely complete... Well, My projector will be at least.

This is in response to the message you sent me regarding how I built my lens assembly.

If you go to the PVC section at Home Depot or some place like that you should be able to find everything I used.
The first picture I am showing here is the 4 inch pvc that I mounted in the front of the projector. The inside diameter is 4inches. The lens assembly slides back and forth inside this.

The next picture is the piece of pvc that the lens fits inside of. There is even a small lip on the inside of this piecs that the lens rests against it is perfect for this use. Also this piece has ridges on the front that work great as finger grips for when you want to adjust your focus it makes it really easy to grab. The outside diameter of this piece is 4inches so it slides inside the first piece I talked about before.

The next picture is how I keep the lens inside of this holder. I used another piece of pvc with a 31/2 inch outside diameter that slides in and wedges the lens in place from behind. I then just used hot glue to secure this into place.

The last picture I have is the final assembly put togeather and installed into my projector.
After you have the parts it only takes about a half hour to finish the entire thing it's pretty easy and it works great no problems at all with mine.
I hope this helps.

Iam sorry about the double post but the first time I tried posting it looked like it did not go through so I tried again and then it did it twice.
Again I am sorry about that.
I hope I at least got you the info you wanted.

Well its been quite a while, and I'm waiting for my reflector/fresnel frames from Tescorp... I get 'em tomorrow if FedEx innit lyin!

Here are some updated pictures of my wiring and other little things I've done!

Okay, well here it goes.

Back of my box

My sweet shielding/lightboxish thing

looking down into the back portion of the box-a-rino.

My awesome wiring thing that I got somewhere for like 98¢

Most likely the best frame ever made on LumenLab. Please, just send requests on how to make one to my PM box... sad.gif I'm living a lie.

Another one

Fresnel shielding material. super complex stuff thats made to look like a torn up sheet, but in reality makes all dust in grime stay away by at least 2 - 7 inches. Kinda like a restraining order... Okay, its just a torn up sheet. blink.gif

Light leaks... Front and back. This is with no fresnels or triplet.

So wacha'll think?
