Hey guys, im about to design another case for my projector/beamer (..) but a few questions come up (again).

First question, when do you know that you have 100% out of your projector with that many things to slide of change?

- Reflector.
- Light.
- Condensor.
- Hotmirror.
- First Fressnel.
- LCD.
- Second Fressnel.
- Triplet.

Al those things can be slided a bit forward or backward to get a tighter look and better light, but when do you know when its the best?

Second question.
Is a condensor needed in a 15"? Some have it, but ive read it gives a hotspot.

Third question.
How save is it to make something to slide the LCD and what good is it? Because I was thinking of this to get 100% result out of the beamer but if you move it it has a much bigger chance to break or go kaput!

So those were my questions for now I hope I get some good answers so I can design my next projector.
Greetings Peter.

1: You play around until you get a decent image, take a picture of the projection and post it here. Then the kind people of this forum will tell you what to move (if anything), and you'll get the best out of your setup. biggrin.gif

2: Don't think so, if you have a powerful lamp and a reflector.

3: If you make a sturdy frame for the lcd it's no problem. But you can fix the LCD placement and make everything else modular.

Good luck!

Yea I want to put the LCD on one spot, but how much difference would it make if I can slide it 4 mm?

Haha play around, tongue.gif ill do that.

I've been thinking of this for a while... Here's what I plan to do:

Put the bulb where I think it needs to be. I'll probably do a lot of measuring here to get it as perfect as possible.

Put in the collimator fresnel, move it around until the light from it appears to be coming out even and square/parallel and centered (I'll put a sheet of paper or something close to the fresnel).

Then attach the reflector, and move it around until it seems i've increased the light from the collimating fresnel as much as I can (trying to keep the light even also).

After that I'll put in the field fresnel and try to make it even and centered. I'll be watching the front of the projector box to see if it looks like it's focusing the light like I want.

Then I'm not sure, maybe the triplet next, maybe the LCD... Dunno.

I thought about making the LCD stationary, then adjusting everything to it. But I think that'll be easier said than done.

You will never have 100%, there is always one more (or a 100 more) things to try biggrin.gif
