Hi everybody, just starting off out projector. First, a warning to all buying a Dell 152p , DON'T. There is a *huge* FFC issue and trying to use an extender cable even is impossible as you need to twist the side electronics and this kills the fragile wiring on it.

So far we have the following:

- box made of MDF, lens and fan holes cut
- 400w Metal halide bulb (Eye multi-metal m400x/u/bt28)
- Metal Halide Ballast
- Westinghouse LCM-15v5 15" LCD (easy to strip, but i'm worried about the length of the control buttons cable)
- The lumenlab lens kit (220, 320, projection lens)
- Tempered glass (still need to get this one......)
- 2 120mm 12V fans
- 2 Fuses and fuse holders
- drill, jigsaw, misc screws, nails, leftover wood

I have a lot of questions... and i'll post before I do anything.

One thing that I'm stuck on now is that I have a MH bulb lof this brand and model - Eye multi-metal m400x/u/bt28 - and according to the manufacturer (at http://www.eyelighting.com/ss/EQS-N-52-84-...x%2Fu%2Fbt28%22 ), It is a type E so do I need a fixture for this? Is it safe to use in a projector?

Thanks for help, pics coming soon!

E just means that it needs an enclosure (like a projector), because it's not "open
fixture" rated. Open fixtures have a second glass bulb to keep the shards from
flying at people if it busts.

Thanks! The bulb works, just lit it up. It is white in colour (white as in tube light white... not incandescent white) and takes about 2 mins to get bright.
