will be released? I was looking at the FAQ about the size specs of this and it's a bit too large for me to accomodate, and I noticed the r2 will be much smaller(7" LCD). I was just curious if anyone can give an estimate on when it will be coming out.

Thank you

edit: oh and how good are these in daylight? that is if i wanted to keep one in my bedroom, how good(or bad) of an idea would that be to use during the day?

Hank-

I can't comment on the progress of the 7" manual, but in answer to your question regarding daylight, the darker the better.

This is a projector, and having alot of ambient light in the room is going to detract from your final projected image. Depending on what you are looking for, this may or may not be acceptable. This is a picture posted in the project gallery with 3 60watt light bulbs on. Looks pretty good to me, but you may disagree-

There are also possible work arounds posted to daylight viewing in the protected forums:

Black out your bedroom windows. wink.gif

Well the only reason I'm even remotely interested is because I was wondering about the posibility of replacing a computer monitor with a projector.
So blacking out my windows all day may not be the best idea. I'd probably demand lighting tongue.gif

Does this mean that one can use a 7" LCD panel instead of the 14"? Will the clarity of the projected picture remain the same?

Also will changover from the 14" to 7" require any newer components, or can the same be rearranged?

Btw, are 7" LCD common in USA? I havent seen them here, except in Portable DVD players.

Yes.

No, the 15" monitors most are using are XGA resolution with an average of 400:1 Contrast ratio. The Liliput 7" that has been proposed for the 7" projector is only SVGA, and has a contrast ratio of only 200:1. Naturaly these numbers would translate the same to the projected image, giving your 7" a lower CR and Resolution than the 15".

The reason the Liliput panel is still an option is because it has no FFC issues to deal with and because at $200 it is reasonably priced (a 7" panel with XGA resolution would be much too expensive)

Those are really helpful images! What was the screensize on those, and how far away were you for each picture?
