Hello,

I'm new here, but I have to say first off - this site is amazing. You guys
have some great set ups and the images look great. Makes me want to
run out and try to build one overnight. Think I'll slow done and try to do
it right.

I was wondering which is the better LCD. I know that the Benq has better
contrast 450:1 (Samsung 300:1), is this difference enough to make a
difference? But, the Samsung has more connections, is vga better then say
s-video?

Also, there is only about $20-30 difference in price.

While I'm here acouple more quick questions.

1. On the case, are the end pieces inside the case or on the
outside(ends)?

2. Is this a good balast, I slid one in with an order at work
(not at that price)? I know it is long so I plan on mounting it on the
outside with some kind of conduit (cover) with maybe a 12v fan to pull
air across it, one end open with vents on the other end.

balast

Again, thanks. I'm sure I will have plenty of more questions.

Thanks

Higher contrast is alway a good choice. VGA is way better than s-vid. The ballast will work fine. Doesn't matter how you mount the ends of the case.
