So, I tried it myself.
Screen is a 92" x 52" Roc-Lon Blackout screen on homemade 1 x 2 frame.
Painted with Behr Silverscreen ( minus the red pigment ).
Had assembled the screen and then painted using foam roller.
Definitely didnt work out so well. Very blotchy application of paint. Thick in some spots, thinner in others.
Very hard to get the paint from roller onto pliable screen.
First coat used the paint as it came.
Second coat I thinned the paint down with water, this helped a bit, but not enough.
Projector arrives on Thurs so will set up and test it out.
If things look promising, going to get 3 more yards of blackout cloth and redo, next time will paint with a compressor and spray gun. or may paint the material before applying to frame.

This is projector right out of the box, fairly high amount of ambient light, no color tuning.
