I bought a projector off a buddy at work and am in the process of rebuilding the box to try and improve the looks, both of the projected image, and the box LOL.

LCD: Samsung 512n - Stripped AG this weekend
Bulb: Venture Lighting 400w Uni-Form Pulse Start -Vertical
Ballast: M59 sumtin er other ?? it works
Optics: LL S15 kit

I think thats all the important stuff.

While I'm rebuilding this thing I had a few questions.

1. Which side does the writing on the Lexan protective cover point? Bulb or LCD, from what I have seen its writing towards LCD, but just want to make sure.

2. What are the downsides to burning a bulb in a direction it isn't intended to be mounted? I have like 5 vertical bulbs +/- 15deg and can tillt the current box on it's side and don't really notice any light loss, etc etc. If necessary I will get some horizontal bulbs later, but I want to go ahead and build with a horizontal mount.

3. Lens Shifting? I know how it works, but can't find much info where people are actually doing it, so I can get some measurements to start playing around with. I need to have the projector in the floor and to get the 120" diag off the ground it has to be jacked up waaaaay to high.

Everything else I needed to know I have found from browsing the plogs/guide, so I will be busy working away while I await some feedback.
