yea... this topic was brought up at one time by a member who actually worked in a movie theater... if I remember correctly the two issues were 1) price of the lamp (expensive) and 2) price of the ballast (really expensive) 
but... at the time I thought... "what exactly is a xenon headlight ??" ... perhaps there is something here ??
