i ordered a 550 fresnel from 3dlens and it has arrived. the panel measures about 12 5/8" by 15 3/4" (31 by 40cm).

the fresnel arrived with a small chip (3/4" by 1/4") out of the corner.

i am about to build a 17" projector and i am wondering if this chip will matter, or if i would be cutting the chip off the fresnel anyway. how much do you usually cut off the fresnels?

thanks in advance for any advice

lay the panel over the frensel (carefully). Does the panel cover any part of the chip? If so, you'll have that part chipped out of your image. If not, youre fine.

that said, if it's cracked, the crack may spread further into your image. You should probably get 3dlens to send you a new one.

17" monitor is 13.27 x 10.6 inches and you will need maybe 1/2" larger to cover the LCD with light so you should be fine
