Hi All,
I got the bug and ordered the plans and have read them through a few times...and I must say I am a little intimidated by the project. Not that I am a total idiot , but it seems like there a a few really good ways to screw this one up. Seems like the hardest piece to choose is the LCD. Am I right?

So Im looking for a few words of encouragement and maybe a little push towards the best bang for the buck LCD out there.

Oddly enough, the wife approval factor was gotten before I even bought the plans. I showed her the pictures on the forum. All she said was

the hardest part for me was mounting the fresnels and the lcd - well plus my measurements -

you will be fine there is a ton of good info on this site - and there is aways updates and better ways to do stuff - so first decide what you want

small projector/or it does not matter
being able to put projector back 15 foot and have a 5 foot screen (focusing mech)

these two things are the most inportant before you began that you need to decide on -

IMO

I thought that the ratio was about a foot of screen for every foot from the wall?

You are correct. At least until the new zoom lens set is available! wink.gif

Thank goodness! I was thinking I was going to be doing the movie thing all the time saying "Madison, sit down!" Cassandra, sit down...please?"...Ah kids

By the way, Any idea when the zoom lens sets will be available and what they might possibly cost?

Thanks Oloff,
This is seriously starting to pique my interest. I actually caught myself daydreaming about making a box last night while I was hanging out with my friends. I feel my project coming on soon....smile.gif

Welcome to the forums samuraijack. The worst thing that can happen is that you will blow up your panel. smile.gif

Thanks for the welcome. Since you are the omniscient one, I will take your advice. I have been shopping for panels and the Samsung pre-stripped deal from Techbench seems to be pretty good. Any word on the possible group buy?
