Does anyone know where I can find a plastic skin to cover an entire projector box to make it look awesome? I know professional race car drivers use it, but I only need enough for a box. Here is a link showing what pinewood derby car hobbyist use to decorate their smaller cars.

Here are a couple of other sites I found, but not quite what I'm looking for:

http://www.vinylmayhem.com/colorchart/

http://www.speedysigns.com/decals/graphic_decal_2749.htm

Cheers!

What about coverite ?

Used for RC Planes it's a high gloss iron on film: http://www.coverite.com/covering/covq0240.html

You can get it stateside from tower hobbies for $9.99 for One 72" x 27-3/4" (183cm x 70cm) roll

Wow, some of those look REALLY good!

Woah! that Alsacorp stuff looks amazing!. I really like the brushed stainless steel and carbon fiber look.

Wow... nice find autonut. Some of those pics look amazing. Now I have to re-think (yet again) the exterior of my project... that mirrored copper could look amazing... the only downside is you'd almost want to just look at the projector and not the movie it's playing smile.gif

That stuff is sexy, anyone know if its also sold around europe ? And did anyone actually buy/use it yet ? i'd love to see some results on a PJ!

Kinda reminds me of the projector i did a couple years back, with a marble skin using self adheasive shelf paper.

You can also try www.selectproducts.com They have all types of abs and plexi glass sheets. The plastic sheets come in 24X48 sheets.

Adix5689,

I checked out Select Products. I took a look at their ABS panels. They reminded me of Formica, that is used on Counter Tops.

Cheers!

Joe2000chevy,

That looks like the exact same skin that you used which is....Shelf Paper? Crud... obviously not mar resistant or kid resistant. But if one does not have kids to worry about, then the self stick shelf paper is a great idea.

How did it work for you... after about a year?

Just reading through the updated plogs today, when I came across this picture of vinyl or some sort of fabric (Post #2) added to the outside of the PJ Box....

It has been too long without an update, so does anyone have any new ideas for the exterior surface?

Here's a nice picture of an update from post #6:

Aluminum flashing looks pretty good too. Thats what I plan on using. Kinda has that brushed look to it on one side.
