I realize this is slightly off topic and I aplogize, but I am desperate to find a replacement fan for an Infocus 4805. The fan is a Nidec D08G-12TS4 01 . If I could find out the flow rate I could spec out a replacement (or maybe even a better, quieter fan) but I DON'T want to under size it. No one seems to sell direct replacements.
I can't find that exact model on the Nidec site and most of the specs are in Japanese.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, great site. I'm getting close. I have the current draw, dimensions, and approximate noise level. I just wish i knew the flow. Guess I'll just shoot for the most flow within the current draw (.38 amps.

what size fan is it and how loud was the original fan? silent, avg, noisy. that will help determine how much flow you need.

80mm x 20mm ~32db total noise from the projector (it has another small fan). It's actually kind of noisy, but I can live with it. Quieter would be better, but air flow is most important.

this is probably one of the highist cfms at 32db

panaflo fan

or this vantc is good 27cfm @ 21db

hi;
I have the similar problem of noise with Nidec D08G-12TS4 01 on my X2 projector. I would be grateful if I receive from you any further information about it's specifications. Bset wishes.

I'm no Infocus authorized technician or anything, but I'd be surprised if the fan in there is very high performance. Computer fans are fairly competitive, so if you buy a quality high flow, low noise fan you'll probably be fine. I'd personally recommend Noctua, SilenX are quiet, but are pieces of crap.

I agree, you won't go wrong with any decent computer fan really. I bet the fan from your PJ was fairly standard and cheap, with a low CFM.
