hey I removed my polarizer from my LCD screen but after a second look there is another film under the polarizer before the glass/pixels. The film has some kind of adhesive but does not leave a mark when pulled off the glass. Could it be cruical to setting the polarizer a certain distance from the the pixels or is it just for protection? anyways i held the polarizer up to it after i pulled some of the film back and a picture still forms... should i remove the rest or not?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Any ideas? It seems to be fine to remove but im still worried it may be important. It is between the polarizer and LCD glass/pixels. Is it possiblely blocking a certain freq of light thats not suppose to go through?

Are you saying that you removed the polarizer, but there is another layer underneath it ? Anything below the polarizer is likely simply be adhesive, and can (should) be removed.

Where is the "rear TAC"? Is that on the other side of the glass? Or is that something between the polarizer and the glass on the "front side" of the LCD, in this case, the side that was originally the front of the LCD.

Yeah i had te same thing on a 740N though i couldn't help but rip up the layer, as it was stuck HARD to the polariser; I tested the panel after and could still get the right colours.

Though i would still be interested to know what the layer is for ??
