Nice. I was always wondering when someone was going to try that. I am still waiting on someone to put the curves on the sides and live the top and bottom flat.

joe chevy inspired me with his pdf plan i just printed it at 300% taped it together stapled it to 4- 3/8 ply ran it thru the ban saw , stapled and glued.
Its lenght is 21 1/2 " long , center width is 6" , the ends are 4".
I wanted to do a wood turned (lathe) project but can't justify buying a lathe.
The trial and error is what keeps things interesting !

The light engine runs really cool in my 3" black pipe tee . A 3" lens is in the cross end.It will run even cooler with fans. Slowly shaping up.

Jeffreygtweed,

This is the first time I've read your plog, but I was just thinking about a Double Haas yesterday. The real challange is keeping it square to the world. Wow the internall stress to bend all those boards. How did you do it?

Looks very nice though!

I thought it was going to be tough but i pointed the 3/8 ply in the direction of its natural bend the curve was already started , when i glued and stapled i started from the center and worked out to the ends.
Thanks smile.gif

Waiting on my lens to come in, right now using a fresnel and getting a 2 foot screen, had a 12 foot screen from a 4 inch lcd( too pixelated ), i will settle on a 5 foot screen.I still have to box in the electronics. The projector runs cool with a 175 watt mh bulb in a 3 inch black pipe tee, a 3 inch lens on the tee with 2 fans on the other ends doing the push pull action , i have no air running thru the lcd lens configuration although i am considering putting in a temp sensor bulb shut down.I have been running this configuration for two days straight without
Failure.Lumenlab has given me great ideas!
