I have just discovered this site a few days ago (thanks popular sciences! biggrin.gif ) and I can't stop reading it!
So I have decided to order the mega projector kit and give it a shot, sounds like a fun project.
If I got everything right the kit has just about everything you need to get started BUT the LCD.
Since I'm just getting started, it is more than likely that I'll mess up the 1st LCD. dry.gif (and hopefully just 1!)
My question is: what brand 15' LCD and where can I get 1 for CHEAP?
Any help really appreciated
thanks! post-418-1138467278.gif

If you want a cheap LCD, I would check ebay for a model that is known to be easily strippable and has a broken backlight. Since you're going to be using your own light source, the backlight of the LCD is not a problem.

If you buy a new LCD, you might find there are some tradeoffs when it comes to contrast, color, and general build quality.

Go to this site here:

eCost

They have a 15" Westinghouse LCM-15v5 for $75. Same one I just purchased.

Other people have used this in their projector with good results.
