im going to be building a PJ some time soon out of my PS2 LCD. Now my question is this do i have to use the lens sold by LL for small projectors or can i use the standard lens. Also sence im using a small LCD do use the same meserments from the front fresnel to the lens as in a 15" job?

You can use both. If you are using standard fresnels, it'll be the same distance as 15".
