Hi everybody.

First allow me to praise this forum. It's really great!

Well, now back to business:

I just got an LG 1550s lcd and removed the front anti-glare film, however, I noticed that it also seems to have another ag film on the back of the panel. So, I was wondering if that is really an ag film that I can safely remove, or is it the polerizer film?

Could anyone please help me?

Thanks a bunch.

So far I have been very lucky removing ag films (2 monitors), and I DO use the soaking method. For this last monitor it only took 2 hours for the film to loosen up.

Thanks for the advice.

My biggest question is why would any manufacturer laminate 2 ag's on both front and back? I doesn't make any sense.

Wonder if there is an explaination to this out there.

I was wondering about that myself! Anyway, I removed it too. Funny, because both films took away about 10% of the luminosity, so why would the manufacturer make the lcd less bright?

By the way, using the water soaking method I got the second ag film off after 60 minutes...like butter. (just a little bragging here)

I can't think of any benefit from using AG on the backside of an LCD
