so i noticed today my lcd has about 5 dead pixes somewhat scattereed near the bottum of the projector, then i thought about it and there on the side of my projector where my 90cfm fans mounted, now ive bee thinking about how to add more cooling, my thermomiter probe which is grey and in the light, however its in a plastic bulb in some kind of glue reads 90 today and my lcd shouldent go above 95, now i think the lcd pixles will come back ill take a look tomorrow night but what should i do to get more airflow, i have a 90cfm fan, its offcenter, i thought about getting a 2nd on however my case is from tescorp and i dont have the tools to cut another hole easaly in the back, but i guess i coudl what do you guys think, i could mess around wiht a old psu and line pci blower on the top blowing down but err im not sure how that will look

maybe i should just get the 2nd fan hmm I bought 120mm cover so it will be less queit

i have a sunon so im probably going to want to match it, any suggestions on where i can get one cheap?

You can't fix dead pixles, you can only fixed pixels which are "stuck". You can try two things to get stuck pixels to work... 1) massage the pixle and 2) find the program that changes the screen colors real fast... in a way "electronically" massaging the screen by having it on-off, switching colors.

Are you talkin' about physically rubbing the screen with your finger or something?

A dead pixel is black,, er can be white depending on LCD type,,,I think the PVA type,, but not at all sure

coloured ones mostly are stuck

and becareful massaging physically,, you can damge the TFT junctions too... they are only film deposited, (The seperation between glass laminates is only very thin) and are also temp sensitive,,,

Search the forum for "dead pixel massage"

Yes, it's basically rubbing hte glass of the panel. This CAN fix a dead/stuck pixel, depending on where the fault is, but it can also damage more pixels.

I've had a TEMPORARY success with this, but the stuck pixel came back a couple of weeks later.

Man that really sucks. I've never had a dead pixel in my life and I dont' want to get one on any of my monitors. I hope you can massage it out.

I've just got me a 15" TFT from eBay with a view to building a projector. Nice screen, sold as 'graded'. It has a single dead pixel though sad.gif (always on, and vey green!). It's not too bad when watching image, but very noticeble on a black screen.

Should I be looking to return the screen, or is the pixel something I just have to live with? I believe there are degrees of 'acceptable' numbers of faulty pixels specified by manufacturers? Where should I stand on this?

Thanks!
