I am new to the forum and am amazed at the results people are having. I was wondering if anyone has tried the NEC LCD1850E monitor yet? i have one and was wondering if it will work.
the Enhance
check the Compatible Monitors List and Incompatible Monitor List

If it's not there, chances are nobody has done it before.

You'll also want to search for the model name/number of the monitor, just in case their results were not added to the two monitor lists...
Unfortunately this forum software will not allow searches with terms under 3 characters (which is often necessary when dealing wit' model numbers), so we have to use google.

Just add "site:www.lumenlab.com" to any search (the quotes are not necessary).

I did a google search of this site for "NEC LCD1850E" and "NEC 1850E"; without any results, so it's likely this exact model hasn't been used... yet.

You may consider searching for similar models as well. Sometimes a model number will have a letter in it that just describes a cosmetic difference, such as a "S" for a monitor with a silver case, or "B" for black, etc.

It's possible that E in the model number is there just because the monitor has an "E"xtended base or something rediculous like that...

wow what was quick.. how did you get the anti-glare off? if you just used a knife or peeled it up, theres a possibility you took the polarizer with it.

i took the monitor apart yester useing day and today i soaked it for 3 1/2 hours by placing a damp papertowl on the lcd and then adding more water until very damp and then i put on a layer of cling wrap. it came off in one piece and just the antiglare layer. beginers luck i guess. tongue.gif

It's most likely a piece of acrylic or lexan that is used in th backlight. The CFL lights are put on the edges of the acrylic and the light one way or another makes it's way out through the LCD. I think they also use the acrylic to keep the monitor rigid.

Cool. so i will not need that part when i build the projector?

Are you trying to put the pictures on here directly or through an attachment to another website as above?
If you are posting them direct, try to resize them, or add them one at a time. Our posting size is limited. Thanks!

Naaa, you wont need it, but it could come in handy. It's very strong, but easy enough to work with. I'm going to use a piece I have to mount my LCD circuit board and controller board.
