If it is a Halogen then no. MHI is the only way to go. Halogens are way too hot also.

where can i get an mhi setup and what is it......yes, you can point and laugh
im wanting to use a smaller bulb than what most everyone uses.......any suggestions

What size LCD are you going to use?

im using a 6" lcd at ~14 ft. from the screen........the halogen that im using now shows on the screen and you can tell what everything is(it is watchable), but its dark

In that case you'd probably get away with a 150-250W MHI. I can't think of any PLOGS off the top of my head that use a small panel so maybe try doing a search for hami or lilliput. They'll probably have lighting specs.

if you go with a small lcd and a 250 watt MH system, you can also use a precondenser to really increase your brightness also,again, like ozstang said, check out the small pjs here....

where can i buy one of these setups? do they sell them at home depot........and what all do i need to run it

I suggest reading the small panel pj threads first so you have a better idea of what you are looking for, bulb shapes differ, ballasts differ etc....

alright, ive been searching these forums for hours to find the answer to my lighting problems........could someone tell me what all these little abbreviations stand for, like ohp and mhi and such......this would help me if i knew what i was looking for......thanks in advance
