a time ago I developed a small beamer control unit which is very easy to build and it has got some nice features.

I want to do something similar but maybe with TCP/IP comms instead of RS232, then I can just bring an ip address and use http for settings without requiring a terminal prog. I have all the code for this but haven't finished the projector yet so it's gona be some time.

Nice work, I like your custom characters on the LCD. I’ve been thinking about building a similar controller but using a pic 16f88. Just one question, did you use normal analog temperature sensors or a single line temperature chips?

I used a simple NTC resistor because they are cheaper. But it was difficult to get the temperature almost exact. But it is good enough ...

Ups ... I just realized that my small video file was damaged ... I fixed it and now it is working again.

Yes. There is a very good chance for. Someone offered me to do the translation of the manual! The software-translation should be no problem at all (except the issue °C vs F)

F = (9/5)*C + 32, IIRC.

The forumla itself is not the problem. The problem ist everything which has something to do with °C. Every adjustment of temperature thresholds, hysteresis, display and so on. I have to evaluate how many things are really to change ...

I'm willing to take a crack at translation and programming as soon as I get the parts figured out and get it built. Has anyone else built this?

Ok, I have the parts ordered. When they arrive and I get this programmed in German I will work on an an English software version with Fahrenheit.

My question is, is anyone interested in doing a group buy with the PCB's? I don't have etching equipment and don't really want to jack around rolling my own. If we get a group together we can have the PCB's commercially made at a fairly affordable price.
