I went to Home Depot today looking for a UV Filter or whatever.... I read that Lexan XL10 Polycarbonate glass would be sufficient... is this so???? When i saw it and peeled back the paper that come stuck on it.... the glass itself had a greenish tint to it.... is it supposed to have this tint??? would it still work??? if so, will it affect my overall picture???? If not, does it come in CLEAR???? are there any more options for UV filtering from the lamp???
i have alotta questions...... someone help a newbie PLEASE!
thanks in advance.

Isn't this greenish tint a peelable wrapper?
My lexan had wrapper on each side and one is white with texts all over it and the other is the greenish wrapper which is the UV side that face the lamp.
Check again and make sure it not a wrapper which you need to peel off the lexan but be sure to remember it's the UV side becasue once it peel you won't be able to tell which side is which.

Thats right. The green is from the protective coating. It is as clear as glass after you peel that off. I kept mine on until I was almost done. I didn't want to scratch the lexan.

mark the UV side with a sharpie or the alike in a corner out of the screen area, you'll be glad you did.

Yes, there is a side of the lexan that is supposed to face the light, and one away. The protective coatings it comes with from the store (one on EACH side) will say which side is which. I would recommend keeping the wrappings on as long as possible, this will keep it pristine. And yeah, for sure make a mark on the light facing side somewhere in a corner if you need to remove it in the future.
