It's great that the bulb life is long but
I'm wondering how often a lcd panel needs replacement ?
are there any stats on this ?

Hehe, The panel can last a very long time, decades. The backlight is the main culprit in failure.

How about pixel death? How long before that would become an issue and the lcd would have to be replaced due to too many dead pixels?

Who knows? I've read that the panel life is measured in decades. Hard to say if the pixels will up and die at some point. Typically bad pixels are a manufacturing defect.
