I don't really know anything about electronics, but the fan they're seeling on Lumenlab seems to be quite cheap. I'll be working with 240v so would it be a good idea to pick this up along with the S15 Lens Kit?

That’s a 12V dc fan so it will need an ac adaptor for it to work. The ac adaptor sold in the store is only for places that have 120v AC mains so in your case, having 240V ac, it won’t work. If you have any old electronic equipment that uses an ac adaptor, have a look at the label on it and you may get lucky and be able to use it.

Go to your nearest Maplin or other electrical/DIY shop and you should easily find AC adaptors that will suffice.

If you are really desperate, you could use an old PSU from a computer, but they tend to be rather large!

So what does the adapter plug into? The wall socket? ...meaning you'd have 2 plugs going into the wall from the projector?

Some members have the ac adaptor plugged into a power board inside the projector. You could also find one with a flying lead and simply cut off the plug and hard wire it.
I’m trying to find a wiring diagram for you to look at that I saw recently. It’s similar to he one in the wiki but has the ac adaptor as well, anyone got a link to it? I’ll add it to the wiki if I can find it.

No. You have only one plug to the wall socket, and you can serparate wire in to two direction inside PJ box. One for power supply of LCD and lamp, and another one for adapter 12 v dc fan. That , I have done for my PJs.
Hope this helps. smile.gif

Oh ok, so you can get a 240v adapter that is connected along with the other electronics, which are all powered by one power cable to the wall socket?

Yep

I bought a surface mount electrical box, and put a standard AC plug into the box. Works very well, allows me my 12VDC, with a standard (And safe) plug in adapter that shouldn't give me any problems.
