I'm halfway through building my lumenlab pun15sher inspired projector. I've just destroyed my second LCD panel so now looking for a 3rd (3rd time lucky perhaps?)

In the mean time, I've managed to borrow somebody's BENQ PB6200 projector. I was watching the first match in the football World Cup and compared the picture quality of the BENQ to my 81cm (32 inch) LCD TV. I was shocked at the poor quality of the fairly high spec'ed PB6200. While the image itself is good, the colour is dull. The colours on the TV were bright and vivid, best described as "alive". The bright colours on the TV have a sparkle. Definitely no sparkle on the projector. This was best compared when a shot of the grass pitch with the sun shining on it was displayed, similar to a fairway shot in the golf.

This has led me to find out how a lumenlab designed projector compares. If you don't have an LCD TV, then how does it compare to a LCD monitor. Does your projected image colours retain "the sparkle"? Is the picture quality just as good?

I have found that I get colours that look very close, if not the same, as the original LCD biggrin.gif .

I know what you mean by 'sparkle'

Thats how I describe a great picture... the image is "wet".
I know that Im amazed at the sparkely wetness on the image of a good LL PJ.

I think AG removal helps in this regard, but it always comes back to the LCD you choose.

I have a view-sonic XGA projector at my place, and I really do prefer my LL PJ!

Dazz, and christmasGT'S PJs come to mind right away for premium "wetness" levels!

i just finished my projector a few days ago so this week i've spent plenty of time tweaking everything and calibrating the image. last night i was rewarded when i watched some of the Lawrence of Arabia Ltd. Edition on it.....the colors looked so vivid i almost thought i was in the desert. i'm using an old CMV 1512 with the AG removed, and the thing, while not as bright as commercial projectors, shows them all up in color saturation.

not bad for a project i took on because i was bored.

oh, and if you guys haven't seen that movie, it should be MANDATORY projector viewing. visually stunning. the scene where Omar Sharif appears as a mirage is breathtaking.
